Beloved Parishioners,
I wish to conclude my reflections on Our Lord’s prayer which I started sharing with you last week. As we conclude this reflection today, we look at the practical implications and how this prayer should guide us in our daily life activities. The Lord’s prayer I would wish to reiterate is a simple prayer but encompasses all that we can do in prayer.

Today we shall take a closer look at one of the foundational prayers of the Church, the “Our Father”. Certainly, one thing we perhaps may not have acknowledged is that the "Our Father", also known as the Lord’s Prayer, encompasses different special attributes which include a profound scriptural origin and a rich theological significance; it equally plays a significant role in our worship and indeed our personal spirituality.

As we come to the end of the Gospel of John on Jesus’ discourse on the Eucharist today, I share another reflection on the incredible value of Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist and the Adoration of Our Lord before the Blessed Sacrament. I have shared these reflections for the past three weeks and I wish to continue to share it for us all to grasp the real importance of what happens when we come together to celebrate the Mass.

Last week I mentioned that we would continue our reflection on the value of Eucharistic Adoration in today’s Pastor’s Corner. To that effect, it is very important to note that we are greatly encouraged in our parish to cultivate this strong devotion to the Eucharistic Adoration by making frequent use of our Chapel of perpetual adoration to encounter the Lord, be with Him and worship Him in a way that is personal and deeply meaningful.

I continue with my write-up on evangelization which is a responsibility given to everyone. Last week I wrote on the need for everyone to get involved in this process of evangelization. Today, relying on one of Pope Paul VI’s documents Evangelii Nuntiandi I reflect on how we can make this a reality in our own city of Lake Havasu.

In this Pastor’s Corner I share with you a reflection on the need for each of us to embrace the Spirit of an evangelizer and a missionary. The current teaching of the Church is that mission and evangelization today concerns all baptized Christians not just the priests and religious.

As Christians we understand perfectly that grace is an external help given to us by God to help dispose us to virtue and goodness and we do not fail to make recourse to the grace of God in our prayers as a foundational basis of our Christian life and practices. What are we without the grace of God?

I continue my reflection with you in this Pastor’s Corner and today, after my summer vacation, I want to share a reflection on what can bring a positive change in our spiritual life. We read how Saul changed to Paul following his Damascus experience of Christ (Acts 9:1-9) and how Christ himself renamed Simon, the head of the apostles, Cephas or Peter (John 1:42), but I really wonder if we have ever thought of the significance of the great change that comes with an encounter with Jesus Christ.
